We were so excited to be back at Twigs Tempietto for Joe and Katelyn’s gorgeous garden wedding! Katelyn is super creative so there were so many “details” everywhere.
Joe is a fun, easy going guy who enjoys rock climbing (as was demonstrated during their engagement session!). These two seem like the perfect match and even gave each other the same wedding gifts! (a compass)

Some of the fabulous wedding day details included hand drawn chalkboard signs showcasing the wedding party names instead of traditional paper programs.
Joe and Katelyn decided not to see each other before the wedding and save the surprise for the ceremony. Joe’s face when he saw Katelyn for the first time coming down the aisle was priceless!
The wedding ceremony arbor was beautifully decorated by Twigs.
During the ceremony, the bride and groom planted a tree and presented each of their mothers with roses.
Katelyn and Joe exchanged metal rings that they made themselves at Danielle Miller’s jewelry studio. They used leftover metal from the rings to make leaves for their mothers, signifying leaves on the family tree.
After the wedding, we headed outside for some sunset shots and then back inside the Tempietto for dinner and dancing.
The groom’s cake was the most elaborate we have ever seen! It featured clay figurines of Katelyn painting, Joe “climbing” the cake, and their pets frolicking about. Katelyn made all of the figurines and it was truly impressive!
We got Katelyn and Joe alone for some photos with their 1969 Plymouth GTX convertible that Joe had restored with his father.
They had guests sign their name on a giant slab cut from a tree trunk. Friends and family wrote notes to Joe and Katelyn and put them in a time capsule to be opened on the first anniversary.
Guests picked up succulent plants as their party favor before heading outside to shower the bride and groom with rose petals during their exit.
