What a treat to work with a couple like Chris and Catie who gave us complete creative freedom to photograph their wedding! We talked through the whole wedding day schedule and came up with a game plan to make sure we had enough time to get tons of great photos before dark.
Nearing the end of daylight savings time, it’s important to make sure there’s enough daylight for outdoor photos. The rain held off all day (which was unusual this Fall) and we were able to get some amazing photos of Chris and Catie at the St. James Episcopal Church right after their wedding ceremony and before driving to their Poinsett Club wedding reception. It was also great to see Drew and Kelly again. We photographed their wedding a couple years ago at Furman. Kelly was a bridesmaid and Drew did one of the readings during Chris and Catie’s ceremony.
Gorgeous, elegant flower arrangements by Greg Foster…you always know the flowers will look good when Greg is the florist! (BTW, he was the florist for David & Kristina’s wedding back in 2007)
YouTube to the rescue for figuring out how to pin boutonnieres…it’s harder than it looks folks!
Fist bump # 1 (keep scrolling for the second one).
The Wedding Ceremony took place at St. James Episcopal Church in Greenville, SC.
….aaand there it is…fist bump # 2!
We asked the groomsmen to unbutton their jackets and put one hand in a pocket, and the bridesmaids informed us that they also had pockets. Thus, the wedding party “pocket” shot:
Everything at The Poinsett Club is fabulous, including the food! The facility is also beautiful, and the service is second to none.
It was great to see Drew and Kelly again after photographing their wedding a couple years ago. We practically had to drag Kelly away from the dance floor to get her in a photograph with her husband. DJ Chris Scott had almost everyone dancing all night!
You can see Drew and Kelly’s pics here on the Muse 10 Photography website (we rebranded as “David & Kristina” this Fall).
Mawwage. Mawwage is what brings us toga today. Hands down, the BEST wedding koozies I’ve EVER seen! The Princess Bride was one of my (David’s) favorite movies growing up. A friend of Catie’s had these made as a surprise for her and Chris.
This is what happens when the DJ (Chris Scott) plays “Watch Me Nae Nae”…
…and this is what happens during the guitar solo in “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey!
