I’ve known Robert for what seems like forever. We’ve been great friends since high school, so it was an honor for he and his fiancée, Jessica, to ask me and Kristina to photograph their wedding. Robert upped the ante for me a little bit when he asked me (David) to be a groomsman too. Ha! I got this! Kristina will be taking the lead but except for some of the bridal party photos, we’ll be able to shoot the wedding day together. This is actually the second time I’ve been IN a wedding I was also PHOTOGRAPHING. (I don’t recommend doing this often, but I make exceptions for special people.)
Robert and Jessica had been planning for a couple months on doing a Fall engagement session with the colorful autumn leaves as the prominent color palette. Weeeellll…this hasn’t exactly been the best year for Fall color since the rain seems to knock the leaves off the trees as soon as they change to a beautiful red, orange or yellow color. But, we were able to find some great spots around Downtown Greenville with beautiful color and light.
One of the things I like most about engagement sessions is the freedom to try new locations and ideas. Some of the seemingly least likely places for good photographs provide the best light and backgrounds. For example, the first photo in this series is in the back of a parking lot next to a dumpster by the railroad tracks.
