So many things came together to make this the perfect wedding day! Drawn to the beautiful mountain vistas and a vibrant downtown, Charlie and Leiah chose to travel from Chicago to Greenville, SC for their destination wedding at the Cliffs Glassy Mountain Chapel and Larkin’s Wyche Pavilion reception. It was great as always to be working with Jennifer Dennis (Love This Little City), and what a pleasure to work beside Artifice Films again as they created a cinematic wedding film of this amazing day. Of course, with settings like these and a couple this beautiful, it’s almost too easy. Congrats Charlie and Leiah! You two were an absolute JOY to photograph!

For Charlie and the guys, the day started at Greenville’s iconic Westin Poinsett Hotel. Leiah and the girls enjoyed a relaxing morning with mimosas in a beautiful mountain home at The Cliff’s Mountain View.
The first look was a really special opportunity for Charlie and Leiah to see each other before the wedding, giving us more time for photos. One of the biggest advantages of a first look is that the bride and groom get to spend more time together on their wedding day.
After Charlie and Leiah had their special moment, the entire wedding party joined us at The Cliffs at Mountain Park Cabin for photos before driving up Glassy Mountain for the wedding.
As a surprise for the bride, Charlie’s sister made this keyring with 3 pennies from three different years: Leiah’s birth year, the year she and Charlie met, and their wedding year.
Since it was an extremely bright sunny day (welcome weather in an unusually rainy season) we utilized the covered back porch area of The Cliffs at Mountain Park Cabin so we could have better lighting for the wedding party photos.
The beautiful Gary Player Signature Golf Course at The Cliffs at Mountain Park was the backdrop for wedding party photos before driving up Glassy Mountain.
Before even getting to Glassy Mountain, we enjoyed the scenic view from the foothills. In the distance, you can even see the Glassy Mountain Chapel atop the granite peak of the mountain.
We could see for miles from the Chapel at the pinnacle of Glassy Mountain, one of the most highly sought-after destination wedding locations across the country.
Musicians from the Erica Berg Collective play upright bass and classical guitar for wedding ceremony music.
Those few moments immediately after the wedding recessional are some of the most exciting seconds of the day, not only for the bride and groom, but for their families and friends as well.
The bridal party and wedding guests were treated to an elegant champagne toast at the Cliffs Glassy Mountain Sunset Pavilion before the scenic mountain descent.
The Wyche Pavilion is located adjacent to Larkin’s On The River in the vibrant Reedy River area of Downtown Greenville. The table and floral designs were absolutely exquisite! Katelyn Pinner and her team at ModFete, did an incredible job of transforming the space.
Cocktails were served by Larkin’s as wedding guests enjoyed the sights of the Reedy River and Downtown Greenville and the sounds of The Erica Berg Collective band.
Katie Cotton from Cotton Rouge stopped by to do a few touch-ups for the bride and a quick hair change before Leiah and Charlie joined their guests at the Wyche Pavilion for their wedding reception.
In the final few minutes prior to sunset, we took Charlie and Leiah down to the bridge over the Reedy River to get a few more photos before dinner.
Oh yes, and in true South Carolina fashion, there was even a crescent moon in the clear blue sky above the buildings of Downtown Greenville…serendipity!
Just to add to the “cool factor” of this wedding, there was even a cigar rolling station featuring premium, hand-rolled, Honduran cigars by Flor de America Cigars.
Please leave a comment here on the blog! If at least 25 people leave a comment, Charlie and Leiah will get a free 16×20 mounted print of one of their wedding photos!
