Some of our favorite photos from Matt and Mary-Stuart’s Christ Church Episcopal wedding and Twigs Tempietto wedding reception.

Matt and Mary-Stuart have been a pleasure to work with!  They had their wedding ceremony at Christ Church Episcopal in downtown Greenville.  Fortunately the weather was just right and allowed us to get quite a few shots on the church grounds before the wedding started.   We arrived at Twigs just in time for golden hour just before sunset and got some great shots before Mr. and Mrs. Shealy were introduced at the Tempietto venue.  What a fun group of friends they have!  The band, Trapfire Brothers was just awesome too…I really hope to work with them again.  Of course Twigs had everything put together just right (like they always do), and the food was delicious.  One of our favorite cakeries, Couture Cakes, provided the cake.

Wedding photos at Christ Church Episcopal

Christ Church Episcopal Downtown Greenville

We arrived at Christ Church a little before the church was opened to let us in which enabled us to get a few fun shots outside before the girls went inside to get ready, such as this shot of Mary-Stuart and her sisters with their monogramed bags.

Being a guy (David writing this) I’ve never understood why wedding dresses have all these buttons that require a hook needle to fasten…apparently they know what they’re doing because the dresses always look great once they’re on!  Hey, at least it gives us plenty of time to get a picture!

I think it’s always a great thing when a bride and groom write each other letters before the wedding.  I can imagine that when they’re writing them, it must be an overwhelming experience writing to the person that is about to become their spouse…what do you say? How do you say it? Can you even put into words what you’re really feeling?  There’s so much excitement on the day of the wedding, putting words on paper ahead of time is about the only way to share thoughts with your future husband or wife.  We were able to get a couple shots of Matt and Mary-Stuart reading each other’s letters.  Matt, by nature, seems to be a guy with a sense of humor, so it seems appropriate that there were more laughs than tears this time!

I love bow ties!  Nothing against the cheesy hook-around kind (maybe a little against them) but I appreciate that Matt insisted he tie his rather than taking the easy way out…hey I get it, the hook kind are easier, but just don’t look the same.

Clearly, one of the most beautiful interiors of any church in the Greenville area, Christ Church would only allow us to photograph from the balcony area…at least we were able to include some of the grand architecture in Matt and Mary-Stuart’s ceremony pictures. Notice Mary-Stuarts mother wipe away a tear as her daughter walks down the aisle.

A somewhat hidden gem, Twigs Tempietto wedding venue is situated in an area that has some beautiful lighting at the right time of day.  Kristina and I (again David writing this) love to take the just-married couple out for about 15 minutes of pictures before we loose them to the celebration with friends and family.  Not only do we get some great shots, it gives the couple some time to enjoy and soak in the first few moments as husband and wife.

Twigs Tempietto Wedding Reception

I really can’t say enough good stuff about Twigs.  They’re always on the ball with making sure everything is set up just right, and the staff are very attentive to all the guests needs…even the photographers.  Having spoken with brides and grooms who’ve had a Twigs Tempietto wedding reception, they tell me how glad they were that they chose the turnkey wedding venue and were able to completely enjoy their event without a worry in the world.

Kristina and I get to hear LOTS of wedding bands, some good, some not-so-good…this band was GREAT!  The Trapfire Brothers had the perfect sound as both a dinner band and kicked it up a notch for the dancing.  They mixed in plenty of familiar and popular tunes (with their own twist of course) and were an absolute pleasure to listen to.  Some live music, especial covers, has become so cookie-cutter and even “stale.”  This was quite the exception…raw musical talent with a unique style…can’t wait to hear them again.

The cake was provided by Couture Cakes of Greenville, one of our favorites.  Susan actually created our cake when Kristina and I got married back in 2007.
